With a history degree and 25 years of industry experience behind her, Sibella Court carries a bag of hard-won magic tricks which she weaves into her role as an interior designer, product designer, author, globetrotter, and content creator.
Originally embarking on her career path as a stylist in Sydney, her vast repertoire working in editorial & the advertising was firmly established during 10 years in New York, styling and concepting with such powerhouses as Bergdorf Goodman, Jo Malone, Donna Karan, Anthropologie, West Elm, Saks Fifth Avenue whilst contributing to a vast array of magazines from Vogue Living, Vogue USA, Condé Nast Traveler, Martha Stewart Living, Town & Country, Departures, Food & Wine to House & Garden.
Sibella evolved from stylist to designer upon returning to Sydney, applying her inimitable approach to bigger and more permanent spaces. The hospitality spaces and high-end residences she has worked on showcase her attention to detail and immersive style which has been described by Condé Nast Traveler as ‘Haute-bohemian’. Some of these projects include Palmer & Co, Mr. Wong, Hotel Palisade, and Bullo River Station.
In 2008 she founded The Society inc, a retail experience showcasing her hardware range, homeware collaborations, sourced vintage furniture & curiosities from around the globe and home to her design studio; an Imaginarium where the magic happens, bringing life to unique interiors and designs for her hardware & product range.
As Sibella’s homeware & hardware empire expands, she has added to her repertoire and partnered with leading manufacturers to design & produce ranges of paint, wallpaper & textiles, tiles, outdoor furniture, and upholstered furniture. This all-encompassing curation of interior products seeks to inspire & excite, catering to both the DIY home market and the design trade industry.
With her own education in Australian history & fine arts, she endeavors to support further education through public speaking, workshops, and ambassador role with Billy Blue College of Design.
Sibella is never happy to sit still, always on the move gaining fresh ideas and experiences. The calling of places unknown is never far from her and she seeks out adventure wherever she can find it, which in turn inspires her unparalleled approach to design. She claims to be part Gypsy, part Pirate; a theory yet to be disproved.
