Renowned Artist/Photographer/Director Hugh Stewart has been taking photos of the who’s who and what’s what since he first picked up a camera in the early 80s.  From a farm in New Zealand to a notorious London squat, to New York and back again, Hugh has photographed celebrities / great thinkers / world leaders / Artists the world over.  

Not one to name drop, so we’ll do it for him … Hugh has taken the portraits of Johnny Cash, Michael Caine, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Paul Newman, Naomi Watts, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Catherine Deneuve, Clint Eastwood, Rod Stewart, Leonardo Dicaprio, Bill Nighy, Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Emma Thompson, five Australian Prime Ministers … we could go on but we won’t (until you ask us to).

Hugh’s portraits, interiors and travel photography have appeared in I-D magazine, The Face, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel and Leisure, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and British, French / American / Australian Vogue and many more global publications.  Yes we are bragging.  He’s very talented.  

Clients including Sony, Microsoft, Levis, J.Crew, Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Australian Tourism, RM Williams, HBO, Netflix, Warner Bros, Sydney Theatre Company, Mastercard and Chanel can all attest to his Artistry and technical prowess.  

As if that wasn’t enough Hugh also specialises in shooting on-set portraiture and stills for movies.  He has worked extensively with Director Baz Luhrman on films like Romeo And Juliet, Moulin Rouge and his forthcoming film about Elvis Presley.  Hugh also directs TVCs and short films and has recently completed work for clients such as RM Williams, Glenfiddich Whisky, ACON and Bill Granger.

Hugh lives in Sydney with his wife and three children and continues to work between Australia, the US and Europe.
